Day 19 of Internship / Attachment
It’s review today. Discussed with boss about the problems we faced. After the review session, we felt that we should be more confident and shouldn’t fear when we speak during cold-calling or outdoor. We should portray the confident image so as to gain the trust from the other party and make them have the impression that we do not fear them.
Day 18 of Internship / Attachment
Daryl and I were doing outstation today while Limin and Min Guang was doing indoor for the usual practice such as cold-calling and email blasting. We met at Lavender as we’re targeting at the offices in Textile Center, Keypoint and Concourse. Started off with Keypoint, however, we gave it a miss because of the security station at the lobby.
We proceeded to Sultan Plaza; however, there aren’t any suitable offices, so we proceed to Textile Center. Got 1 successful survey done, was rejected by one shipping company. We continued to several offices but were also rejected.
Decided to go to novena after lunch, which was a wrong decision. We only have one successful survey done with the other party which is at Goldhill Plaza. After facing much rejection, we felt kind of demoralized and decided to go back to the office to discuss with the other 2 team member for the review the next day.
Day 17 of Internship / Attachment
As we split, so Daryl and I are staying indoor to do cold-calling while Limin and Min Guang are doing outdoor survey with companies. During cold-calling, and learn that in order to convince the other party to do our survey, we have to say that we’re interns doing market research for the new product of our company.
It’s not easy to ask the other party for an appointment. Somehow, they may feel cheated because, in the first place, we’re telling them that we’re conducting a survey then asking for an appointment will cause some sensitive issues.
I came across with this guy, he actually joked with me when I did cold-calling with him. He’s quite humorous and actually breaks the ice or the tense or serious situation.
